| A fun little first person shooter that gives you many guns, some explosives and of course, aliens. Click!Preferably played blind, but it doesn't matter to me either way. Pancakes to all! | |

| Despite being in Flash, the aiming actually worked really well. It's a bit slow to turn sometimes but it's mostly pretty fluent, and enemies tend to be in the center of the screen as trying to shoot them at the edge just ends up making you turn around like a retard. It's fun and, knowing the limits of Flash, not badly made at all. After finishing the first level I found myself looking at a small scoreboard thinking "This reminds me of Doom.". It's not very fast-paced though, so it does tend to get a bit tedious. Luckily you can upgrade yourself in the middle of a mission for some reason, including an upgrade that improves your speed. I did find it a bit easy though, a few aim upgrades and I could kill aliens before they even got within 2 grid spaces of me.
I got bored after the first level however, so it might nudge the difficulty up in the later levels without me knowing. Fun game though. | |

| This game does have the qualities of an old-school FPS, but like Dino has already stated, the killing gets monotonous very quickly. The only real new enemy you find is in level 2, some mutated dog-thing, and from then on, the enemies only change in color as they mindlessly rush at you en masse. I found myself stockpiling the ammo of the rifle and RPG as I simply pistol-whipped through each level of the game, only to find myself with the disappointing lack of an endgame boss at level 4. The upgrade system is a nice touch, but the arm upgrade quickly breaks the game, making it a headshot spree as you fight the same old enemies with a new paint-job. As soon as I landed myself in #12 of the week's highest scorers (A list whose all-time highest are obvious hacks), I found myself wondering if there was more to the game. So, I began to repeat the very same task on the Elite difficulty. Things were working smoothly until I died at level 2, due to the increased damage of the aliens and triggering a back attack. When I revived, the enemies were moving much faster than when they were initially. Not only that, but they kept moving faster as I died, seeming to teleport right next to me no matter where I went, and killing me before I could get even one shot off. The speed of the enemies appears to work just fine in the recruit difficulty, but then it bugs out in both Soldier and Elite. This is what I like to call "Artificial Difficulty", tweaking one little thing to seemingly make a game harder without adding any extra content. But in tweaking that one thing, the game ends up bugged to virtual unplayability in the harder difficulties. In conclusion, I'll say that this game had a lot going for it, but it fell short after the first lap. | |
