Well hopefully you won't be the "ideas guy", nor recruit any. Every game with an ideas guy that contributes nothing has failed and will fail. Also, it'd probably be a good idea to tell us about it first, so we can see not only what it'll be(top-down, platformer, shoot-em-up), but also how far you've come. Starting a thread before you've even reached pre-alpha is usually not a smart thing to do(feels very humiliating if you scrap it).

Nonetheless, good luck creating this game. I'd offer help with the programming if I could, but I don't know much about programming at all(only starting out in C++).

First of all we need what you're making it with whether it's; Flash, Game Maker, C++, Java or a Mod of another game. Tribute projects like these often work best in groups of people who also respect the subject (Trask Nari) because this way you can really good sprite designers, programmers, and music composers. In stead of just one person (you) who is mildly good at all three things.

Well allright, First of. Im making the game in Flash, And coding the functions in AS2.
Second, Yes i do have a good Sprite animator, And i compose the music myself.
I do this in FL Pro. studio 9.
